Feeding Futures provides IBCLCs and other lactation providers with the opportunity to offer essential services to Tenncare families across the state, ensuring they receive proper reimbursement. This initiative aims to increase breastfeeding rates among families in Tennessee to improve overall public health.

Join Our Network

Upon joining our team of independent contractors, you still see your patients under your business name, but we help you get paid for your TennCare visits. Once you complete your visit, you'll chart the visit in our EMR. We handle the rest and send you your contracted payment.

(70-100% of the total paid amount).

Upon enrollment, you will be provided training on documentation necessary for visit submissions.

Expanding Reach

Once you are part of our provider network, we will send you referrals when TennCare patients find us first and are looking for a provider in your area.

OUR Story

Our organization was birthed from the individuals in Milk+Honey Health private practice working tirelessly to bridge this gap by offering insurance covered lactation counseling to medicaid families. After TennCare expanded coverage of lactation services in our state in 2023, many IBCLCs found they were still unable to provide care to Medicaid recipients in their communities. In the state of Tennessee, IBCLCs are not categorized as licensed providers- meaning MOST in community practice are unable to contract with Medicaid MCOs. We were the first practice in the state to be in network with all 3 MCOS. Unfortunately trailblazing cost our small business over $20,000 in revenue while waiting months for payments from MCOS until we were able to work out the kinks in the program together. Our small practice now sees over 500 TennCare patients per year. We are deeply committed to bridging the gap between lactation professionals and TennCare patients.
